Frequently Asked Questions

How do I place an order?

You can place your order online here and pay for it using a credit card (Mastercard/Visa card) or Debit card. Online bookings can be made 24 hours a day. Payment can also be made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) by contacting Boxxit to make your booking and payment. Please note that orders paid for by EFT cannot be delivered until the transferred funds have cleared, approximately 24-48 hours after the time the transfer payment is made.

How can I get free delivery?

For hire jobs, delivery is free with orders to the value of $65.00 or over.

For sale jobs, delivery is free with orders to the value of $100.00 or over.

All orders also qualify for one free top-up delivery and one free pick up as long as the top-up and pick up orders are placed within 3 months of the original delivery.

If my order is under the minimum value required for free delivery, what is the delivery fee?

For hire jobs, a capped delivery fee of $35 applies for orders under $30. For orders above $30 the delivery fee is the difference between $65 and the value of the hire items (less than $35 delivery fee).

For sale jobs, a delivery fee of $35 only applies to orders $65 or under. For orders above $65 the delivery fee is the difference between $100 and the order value (less than $35 delivery fee).

How fast can you deliver?

We can generally deliver the next day. When making a booking, please specify a preferred two hour timeslot for delivery.

We will do everything possible to meet your preferred timeslot and should we not be able to deliver during your requested time, we will call you to arrange an alternative, convenient time for delivery.

Can you deliver today?

If you require same day delivery, this will be possible if we are in your area and have the stock you require available with us. For same day deliveries, please call Boxxit on XXX[DL2]  before 11am on the required day. Where same day delivery is not possible, we should be able to deliver the boxes between 8am and 10am the next day.

Are you able to delivery outside standard working hours?

We can accommodate out of hours delivery requests. Please call Boxxit to discuss availability.

How many boxes do I need?

We can assist with calculating how many boxes you will need. Please call Boxxit for an estimate of the number and type of boxes you will need, based on the size and quantity of your items.

If you do not order enough boxes initially, Boxxit offers a free top-up service with no delivery fee, as long as the top-up order is placed within 3 months of your original delivery. You will be charged for the additional items required only in this case.

Should I hire or buy boxes from Boxxit?

This depends on how long you want to keep the boxes. If you plan on returning the boxes within 3 months, it is more cost effective to hire the boxes. If you hire the boxes and then decide you want to keep some of them, this is not a problem however you will just forfeit the deposit on the number of boxes you decide to keep.

If you plan on keeping the boxes for longer than 3 months, it is more cost effective to buy the boxes.

How much is the deposit?

An individual deposit is paid on each box you hire. This means that if you want to keep a number of the boxes, you only forfeit the deposit on the number of boxes you decide to keep.
 

The deposit per box on medium boxes is $1.60.

The deposit per box on large boxes is $2.50.

How long can I keep the boxes?

You can keep the boxes for a period up to 3 months. After the 3 month period, if you have not organised for Boxxit to pick up your boxes, the deposit paid will be forfeited.

Boxxit may still choose to pick up those boxes at your request, however the deposit will not be refunded in this case.

How do I arrange for hired boxes to be picked up?

To organise pick up of your hired boxes, please call or email us providing your name, phone number, order number and the collection address. Your first pick up is free as long as you contact us within 3 months of the initial delivery date.

If you require more than one pick up in order to return all your hired items, a $35 fee applies for each pick up. Please note that we will be in touch within 2-3 days of receiving your pick up request.

We do not collect hired boxes after the 3 month period from the original order. This only means that you will forfeit the deposit on the boxes and you can keep them.

Do I have to be home for delivery or pickup of the boxes?

As long as you have pre-paid for your order and there is somewhere safe and dry to leave the boxes, you do not have to be home for delivery.

For pick up of the boxes, if you can notify us where the boxes have been left and this is a safe and under cover area, then you do not need to be home for Boxxit to pick up the boxes.

Are the boxes supplied new or used?

Boxxit supplies strong and durable boxes, so they are generally hired a few times before being sold. Therefore, if you buy boxes from Boxxit they may have been used before.

 

We do not sell boxes that are unuseable and ensure all boxes that are sold are still structurally intact and fit for their intended use.

How do I get my deposit refunded?

When we collect your boxes, we will record how many boxes there are and process the refund of deposit paid accordingly. Refunds will be processed either back to the credit card you paid with or via an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into your nominated bank account.

If I damage my boxes, will my deposit be refunded?

Boxxit understands the nature of general wear and tear, however we ask that you follow a few simple procedures so that the boxes are not damaged beyond general wear and tear. Please do not remove the tape from the boxes or write on the boxes. When unpacking boxes, please cut along the tape. If you need to label the boxes, please write on the tape.

As long as the cardboard boxes are not ripped, torn or water damaged you will be refunded your deposit. Missing boxes will not have their deposit refunded.

What area do you service?

Boxxit services the Sydney Metropolitan area

Can I hire boxes if I am moving interstate?

No, Boxxit operates in the Sydney metropolitan area only. In this case, you would be better off buying the boxes required from us for your interstate move.
